Angel

Angel is approximately 21 cm high and 10 cm wide (8.25 inches by 4 inches)

Materials:

DK yarn (yellow and flesh)
4 mm needles (5 US)

Instructions:

Body
Using yellow wool, CO 40 Sts. Work St st 32 rows.
Shape shoulders:
1. K4, K2 tog six times, K8, K2 tog six times, K4 (28 Sts)
2. P4, P2 tog three times, P8, P2 tog three times, P4 (22 Sts)
Work St st 2 rows then cast off.

Head
Using flesh coloured wool CO 22 Sts and work St st 2 rows. K2, k into front and back loop across until 2 sts remain, K2 (40 Sts)
Shape head:
1. K3, K2 tog until end (32 sts)
2. K2, K2 tog until end (24 Sts)
3. K1, K2 tog until end (16 Sts)
4. K2 tog until end (8 Sts)
Leave a long end and thread through remaining Sts and pull. Do not cut tail.

Base
Using yellow wool CO 18 Sts and work St st 12 rows then cast off.

Arms-Make two alike
Using yellow wool CO 12 Sts and work St st 12 rows.
Cut yarn and work St st 4 rows with flesh coloured wool.
1. K1, (K1 ,K2 tog) until last st, K1 (10 Sts) 2. Purl 3. K2 tog across (5 Sts).
Cut yarn and leave a long end; then thread this through the remaining 5 Sts and pull. Do not cut tail.

Wings- Make two alike
Using yellow wool CO 3 Sts.
1. Knit
2. K into front and back of each st across
3. Knit
4. Repeat row 2
5. Knit
6. Repeat row 2
7. Knit 11 rows
8. Dec 1 Sts at each end of every row until 1 st remains. Cut yarn.

Halo
Using yellow wool CO 25 Sts. Knit 1 row then cast off.

To Make Up The Angel
Body
Sew the body together and stuff. Then sew the base on the bottom.

Head
Sew the head together. Sew on to the body. Add two eyes and a mouth and two rosy cheeks.

Arms
Sew up then sew on the shoulders to the body. Sew the two hands together to make it look like the angel is praying.

Wings
Sew a corner to the back to that the wings can move.

Halo
Sew the two ends together to make a ring then sew on the top of the head.
